The Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) R8 conducted the orientation on environmental laws with army trainees on October 22-23, 2016, in Canturing, Maasin City, Southern Leyte.
In keeping stronger partnership with the local government units (LGU) in the implementation of solid waste management, the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) R8 has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the City government of Tacloban for the financial assistance in support to the closure and rehabilitation of Sto. Niño Dumpsite in Tacloban City.
In commemoration of the 72nd Leyte Landing Anniversary, the City Government of Tacloban spearheaded Memorial Tree Planting with other government agencies and with the candidates of Miss Earth 2016 on October 19, 2016 at the City Hall grounds in Tacloban City.
Two schoolsin Ormoc City, Dolores Elementary School and Tongonan School for Excellence, hosted the Orientation on the Search for Sustainable and Eco-friendly Schools organized by the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) R8 in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) R8 on October 5 – 7, 2016.
To ensure that the public is provided with accurate, timely, and relevant information on hazards and disaster risks, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) 8 in collaboration with other national government agencies, including the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) R8 joined forces in the conduct of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Training for Local Media.
